Mobile Zoo in Alabama Closes

A judge with the USDA in Alabama ordered the zoo to close and have all animals removed by Jan. 1, 2017.  The zoo was accused of failing to provide adequate veterinary care and housing in accordance with federal rules and regulations.  It was left up to the zoo to decide what to do with the animals, the only rule being the zoo is not allowed to open to the public.

The zoo had 46 animals, down from 72 it listed in 2010.  Mobile Zoo opened in 1994 and was besieged by complaints over the last many years.
